Bringing High-Quality Shrimps to the UK
We work closely with trusted and reputable breeders from across Asia and Europe to source some of the world's finest freshwater shrimp.
Our goal is to make these exceptional shrimp available to hobbyists throughout the UK. Whether you're just starting your shrimp-keeping journey or you're an experienced keeper looking for high-grade or rare varieties, we're committed to bringing outstanding quality, health, and genetics to every aquarium.
Quarantine
We have a strict quarantine policy. Once shrimps are received from our suppliers, they will then under go quarantine for an extensive period. This process is typically over a month, to ensure that all shrimps that are dispatched by The Shrimp Factory UK are guaranteed healthy.
Raising healthy shrimps at The Factory
We keep and breed all of our shrimp in carefully controlled, optimal conditions to ensure their health and quality. Using state-of-the-art reverse osmosis (RO) filtration systems, we produce ultra-pure water, which is then precisely remineralised to meet the specific requirements of each shrimp species.
This meticulous approach ensures our shrimp are healthy, active and vibrant, giving them the best possible start when they arrive in your aquarium.
Growing Our Shrimp Room for the future
Our shrimp room currently houses 86 tanks, but we’re not stopping there! We have plans to expand to around 90–100 tanks, allowing us to further grow and diversify our offerings.
With this expansion, we’ll have the capacity to:

The International shrimp contest 2026
The Shrimp Factory hit the road this April, heading to Hamm, Germany for an incredible expo featuring the International Shrimp Contest 🦐
Breeders from around the world came together to showcase their finest shrimp, each one a result of dedication, skill, and passion. Expert judges carefully selected the top-quality entries, awarding prizes that truly reflected the hard work behind every tank.
Beyond the competition, the event was all about community—meeting amazing people, exchanging knowledge, and celebrating a shared love for shrimp keeping. An unforgettable experience from start to finish!
